One-word Review: ADVENTUROUS

Reading Tune
Everybody Wants to Rule the World by LORDE

My Review

I loved Nemesis! But I must admit, I was hesitant to read it for 2 reasons. 1. Joyride was okay but I wasn't in love. 2. I'm not a big fantasy lover.

Tag Line:

The princess didn't expect to fall in love--with her nemesis.

Opening Line:

If I were not such a coward, I would hurl myself from Nuna's back and plummet to the Underneath below.

Plot:

Princess Sepora was a badass! I always love reading Young Adult books with a badass female heroine. Katniss Everdeen. Feyre Archeron . . .

Desperate to escape the grasp of her father, Princess Sepora flees to her enemies' territory under the guise of a peasant. With an interesting turn of events, Sephora is captured and sold to the palace.

The palace in the land ruled by her enemy, the handsome, kind new king . . .

I could not put this book down!

The pacing of Nemesis was perfect with the unfolding of the storyline. The writing was intriguing and encompassing. The world-building was real and sucked me into the story. Into the Sepora's world. is a YA Fantasy filled with romance, adventure and intrigue.

Sepora was her own woman. She stood up for herself and for what she believed in.

Tarik was a man to be respected. A strong man easy to love.

And the back and forth, the banter between them was delectable.

All in all, I loved Nemesis and if there is a sequel or if Anna Banks will write more books like it, I happily welcome it. If YA fantasy is your forte then you need to jump on
Nemesis.

Meet the Author:

Anna Banks is a young adult author whose primary goal is to entertain smart, funny gals like herself. You can expect her works to be centered around a love story, freckled with humor, and seasoned with sarcasm.

Anna grew up in a small town called Niceville (yes, really) in the Florida Panhandle. She now lives with her husband and daughter close to her hometown. The youngest of seven children, she was spoiled beyond comprehension growing up. Before she started writing, Anna worked as a banker and a waitress. She loves old movies, fried chicken, and Simon Cowell, but loathes exercise, licorice, and haters.

She also spews sarcastic, romantic fiction under pen name Anna Scarlett.

Teaser Tuesday #25

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just flip through your current read to a random page -- or not -- and share two teaser quotes from somewhere on said page.
This week my Teaser Tuesday quotes will be taken from my current read, Forever Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon.

Teaser #1:

A scream like that of dueling banshees rents the air and a missile zoomed past my ear. A tiny ax thunked into the guard's chest and he lost his footing. I turned to find Veronica and Mackenna swooping in like avenging warriors. Veronica had another ax at the ready, but Kenna raised her sword, and with a violent shriek ran the creature through.  - page 217
Teaser #2:

"Hold on a bit, my prince. She watches me still, suspicious of my loyalty. But I vow, I will find a way to free ye, so that, together with the true queen, we will liberate Doon."- page 108

What teasers are you sharing this week?

Don't forget to tell me in the comments or on twitter; @TheTatteredPage. You can also use #ForeverDoon on twitter if you're reading it!
