The Story:

Kate Winters has won immortality. But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she'll have to fight for it.

Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.
Henry's first wife, Persephone.

Rating: THREE Gold Stars!!!

My Review: One Word: APPETIZING

Not without effort, Kate Winters has won her immortality and proven herself capable of co-ruling the Underworld with Henry, as his Queen. As his wife. But Henry is being more secretive and aloof than ever. And as Kate finds herself falling more in love with Henry with each passing day, she also finds herself competing against the one woman who has a firm grip on his affections. His first wife, the selfish, spoiled Persephone. The woman who broke his heart and gave up her immortality to spend eternity with her lover, Adonis. To make matters worse, Persephone is the only person who can help her navigate through the Underworld to save Henry. Henry, who has been abducted at Kate's coronation by the King of the Titans . . . the only being strong enough to kill him.

On that note, I zipped right through Goddess Interrupted but . . . I am not going to lie, Henry and Kate were kind of getting on my nerves. Henry because the guy just would not give. As for Kate, I understand she was falling hard for the hopeless, brooding Ruler of the Underworld but there were times when I was basically mind-screaming at her to get a grip. Show some dignity for Christ Sakes! But then again, my heart ached for the girl because who wants to be in love with someone who is in love with another person  -- let alone when they were doing so for a thousand years before you even came into existence.

Nonetheless, I was quite proud of Kate for basically telling Henry to go screw himself for not appreciating her love for him but instead, continue to pine after the woman who never loved him and left him for another man . . . then running off to save the world. Which, in turn, brings to Calliope. Calliope . . . Calliope . . . Calliope. Evil - aching for love - wench. Cannot wait to see what becomes of said character when Henry gets a hold of her! Anywho, I was trembling with glee when I discovered there was an exclusive look at the third installment of the series, The Goddess Inheritance. Let me just say this: Henry has never been sexier! And now, my lips are sealed.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from Goddess Interrupted:

Kate to Henry". . . As long as you want me here, I'll stay, but no matter how much I love you, I will not let you manipulate me like this. It isn't fair to me, it isn't fair to this council, and you have to stop it before it destroys us completely. Be miserable as you'd like . . . Avoid me for years -- hell, avoid me for eons. But don't you dare try to stop me from doing what little I can to help prevent the world from crumbling." While Henry stared at me, his mouth slightly open, I turned to Walter. Henry didn't get a say in what I did this time. - page 270
